We LOVE Yeti Mountain Homes 30 November 2012

Mel’s first night in the Himalayas she stayed in a dusty, cold and dark tea house that was less than welcoming after a long day trekking. For the discerning traveller such as herself, this just wasn’t cutting the mustard. On the second day of the trek, she unexpectedly walked past an amazing mountain lodge in Phakding –that reviled that of any lodge around the world.

On her next trip to Nepal, it’s no surprise that the quaint tea houses were ditched and Mel was no longer walking past the mountain lodges, she was checking in. And she’s never looked back, in her own words “once you’ve gone business, it’s hard to go back to economy’

Despite being at the world’s highest attitude, Yeti Mountain Homes provides all the creature comforts that you’re yearning after a long day – you’re greeted with beautiful traditional shortbread, steaming hot black tea and given a comfortable pair of flip-flops to lounge around in. Trust me this was bliss!

When you travel with us at Trek Adventures Nepal, Yeti Mountain Homes will make your experience trekking to Base Camp, Mount Everest that much more enjoyable.

Yoga with Dr Yeti Raj Bhattarai 23 November 2012

On Mel’s last visits to Nepal, she was lucky enough to participate in a 5 day yoga and meditation program, held each morning at Dwarika’s Hotel. Her Instructor was Dr Yeti Raj Bhattarai, the Founder and Chairman of the Academy of Universal Yoga Awareness in Nepal.

Yeti’s strength, calmness and flexibility were a testament to the fact that practicing yoga keeps you young despite your age. Yeti’s love and passion for yoga was inspired Mel to further develop her knowledge and take up a 21 day yoga challenge upon her return to Australia.

On your next visit to Kathmandu, with Trek Adventures Nepal, we’ll arrange a pre trek class with Yeti as he’s known as one of Nepal’s biggest gurus – http://www.yoginit.com/yoga-guide/directory/studios-and-teachers/item/dr-yeti-raj-bhattarai.html

Namaste,

Sanjay Bassett Rebooted 16 November 2012

Last November, Mel Rebooted a group of professionals whilst trekking to Base Camp, Mount Everest. On previous trips to Nepal, Mel met Sanjay Bassett, an Executive Assistant to one of her closest Nepalese friends. For 6 years, Sanjay has been studying Responsible Tourism whilst working full time. Although he had booked hundreds of trips to Base Camp for others, he had never made the feat himself -it was the top of his (one item) bucket list!

Trek Adventures Neapl were inspired by Sanjay story so they sponsored him to join their trek to Base Camp. With his local knowledge and networks, Sanjay became instrumental in assisting the rest of the group to achieve their goal of reaching Base Camp. Whilst on the trek he was given the opportunity to participate in GXY’s Reboot first Reboot Summit program, which was a real eye-opener for Sanjay. For the first time in his career, he had the tools and support to consider his strengths, passions and his work and life priorities.

Reboot Summit provided Sanjay with a greater understanding of his career aspirations and Mel’s Reboot-Summit team felt privileged that they were able to trek with someone who was fulfilling a lifelong dream.
